In the northern part of the Evrytania region, at an altitude of 850 meters, lies the beautiful and historic village of Agrafa.
For those seeking something different, Agrafa offers a unique experience. Visitors can follow a scenic route that runs parallel to the Agrafiotis River, crossing through truly unspoiled nature, with steep gorges and towering mountain peaks standing impressively before their eyes.
Agrafa is also ideal for hiking excursions, as many trails pass through the area – including the international E4 hiking trail – crossing some of the most picturesque spots: old stone bridges, rugged gorges, cobbled paths, and mountain ridgelines.
Access to Agrafa is possible either from Karpenisi, via Viniani–Krenti, covering a distance of 70 km, or from Karditsa, via Lake Plastira and the village of Vrangiana (Evrytania), including a 12 km dirt road, with the total distance being roughly the same.
There is also a bus connection from Karpenisi, with a transfer in Kerasochori.
